ok so this up coming weekend i will have an xtra 150 on me and a new BRKT Gunny, the question how best to spend the 150, all of the options will end up in my camping pact at some point or another,

Ok option 1 a VERY nice sheath http://volclaedesign.blogspot.com/2010/11/bark-river-sts-3.html

option 2 a combination of the following,
- http://www.knivesshipfree.com/product_info.php?cPath=637_638&products_id=7187 i have none of the sharpening things for a convex egde.

-a Cold Steel Pipe hawk

-a folding camp saw

-a large camp knife (BK 9 or RTak2)

-say screw it and get drunk...

Thanks for any help or tips on the matter.

Get the sharpening stuff from KSF. You will want it for sure. I have the strop from KSF and my Barkies are very sharp. Then get drunk with the left over money.

Here's what I'd do.
Get a Junglas, and a less expensive strop, or make your own. Make two strops, a small one for camping, one for home. Make them later, when $$ permits.
Only use the gunny for normal knife tasks, don't baton it. Use the Junglas for the wood processing, and the Barkie for the small tasks.
You will need the sandpaper at some point, and the strop, just not right this minute.
The STS-3 has more height than the Gunny, I think Gunny might be longer, look into that before you buy a STS-3 sheath.

he custom makes the sheaths, he would make it for the Gunny just that same set up.

P.S.
very good look at it thanks.

That's great, the sheaths look nice and supple. Some leather is too hard and stiff.

What sheath came with your Gunny, the kydex? I, and most, don't care for the Bark River Kydex, it's thin, and the ride height is not low enough.
The sharpshooter sheaths are good quality, if you like that style. But, that link you posted looks like a great design.
