I'm a Young aspiring blacksmith, and wondering the best ways to learn blacksmithing. If you've got any YouTube channels to recommend let me know about them. I'm really looking to be good at bladesmithing, or anything related to that. Thanks in advance

Check out dirtysmith on YouTube. He does forging Friday's and teaches some basics of forging. Search Brian Brazeal for some tips on tool making and moving metal. My all time favorite YouTube knifemaker is Trollsky.

i like this fellow Neels Van den Berg

it's a bit like bevel grinding, it takes about 20 blades before you get it.
the problem with bladesmithing with hammer and anvil is it's hot and you have limited time to work the metal,
It's really best learned in person with guidance such as hammer in.

Join your local Blacksmithing organization, meet some folks close by so you can visit their shops and help and learn.

What else would you call a man that spends all day beating his iron? [emoji23]

I been 'Smithing 40some years and still learning.
Practice. You might gain a few tips on YouTube but until you do it yer'self... Its not worth much.

If you want to learn a lot in a hurry and bypass a lot of the time wasted trying stuff that doesn't work, go to any blacksmiths meetup and/or conference. Working with experienced smiths, especially if you've been trying to do it by yourself, will make a lot of light bulbs go on in a hurry.
As far as study materials, youtube is ok, but has a lot of nonsense on it- the very best resource I can recommend is Mark Aspery's book series, the Skills of a Blacksmith.
