I have a BM Leopard, I bought in HS, which has served me well, but I'd like an axis lock/something a bit more substantial.

I think its a similar shape to the griptillian.

Any other suggestions?

If your thinking axis lock for "large hands" I would say the BM 710. I have never handled one personally but alot of members on here love them. Not knowing how much your willing to spend it costs around $150. Another one would be a doug ritter griptillian which is a little smaller that the 710 but is a knife alot of people recommend. It costs $140 (if i remember right). Another cheaper option would be the paramilitary 2 from spyderco. The stock ones are usually $115 ish and have a fun locking mechanism. I hoped i helped some. i have small-medium hands so my knife selection would be different.

I have large hands and my favorite folder for large hands is a Hinderer XM24. It's a frame lock.

I used to carry a Leopard and still have it.
Among current production in similar size I like the 581 Barrage.

If you're worried about lock strength get one with a triad. Plenty of large options.

For big BM's the 610 Ruckus is my favorite (now discontinued) but can be found on the secondary market...This one was my Grail knife.

The 808 Loco is another biggie but has some fancier hardware than most BM's, also has the beefed up Axis like the Adamas.

The Adamas has eluded my collection/selection so far but I have handled them and they are beasts...I will eventually nab one I've just been on a fixed blade kick lately, I bought like 12 folders in a row so I'm now balancing by buying several Busse/Kin now....:)

OK, I will look into these - I bought a 710, think I sold it - did something w. it. A bit small. Similar issue w. my Rift. My Leopard is still fine, but I have squeezed wrong on the liner lock before.

Great shape, IMO, and the milled handle works well as an improvised, light duty, prying tool... :D
