good point, (ugh) the price does seem a little high. However, the sheath is a value added feature which shouldn't be overlooked. Most throwing knives sorely lack a decent and durable pair of pants.
Perhaps it would be more reasonable to sell the knife for $155 and the sheath for $45, that way you could pay less if all you wanted to do was throw.
Adding a sweet logo to the sheath like the one on the blade would probably help sell these things.
With that being said, I'm sure there are more than enough Emmerson admirers, (not to say Mr. Branton doesn't have his share- especially after that Bandidas movie!) who will pay the asking price whatever it may be, given the limited production of them.
However, I'm sure Mr. Emmerson is considering manufacturing these things on a larger scale in his factory, especially given his newfound fondness for throwing knives inspired by Mr. Branton. If he does go that direction, I'm sure you'll see the price come down. I hope that happens.
After all, most manufacturers nowadays are collaborating with handcrafters in order to keep up with the demand for more and more variety, and the ability to turn almost any design into reality for a relatively low cost.
At any rate, that knife design is extremely cool and I would love to have the chance to throw one. It looks very effective.
I'll have to wait until the price comes down, there's no way I can justify that kind of money for one throwing knife, cool and as well made as it is.
