The title says it all,
Which would make a better camp knife,
An SFNO or TGLB?
I have an SFNO and I think it is the perfect camp knife
but I have not handled a TGLB so I can't compare.
Now you might say get both, But, It's more comfortable to
carry just one on my belt which will probably have one or two
more knives on it already.

So what do you think?
Feel free to post pics of yours since I can never see enough Busse pics,
Comparison pics would be cool too.
Thanks!!

I'd think functionally they should be about the same. The difference I think would be the way they feel and balance in your hand. The TGLB has the lightened handle and more classical finger guards. I have the heavier Team Gemini and the difference compared to the Light Brigade isn't just so much the weight as the balance. Aside from all that, the flat ground SFNO might be the better camp knife for those who favor slicers to choppers.

I haven't handled a TGLB, so can't add much, but I imagine that the TGLB would not work as well for some duties due to the double guard.

The SFNO can be choked up on, using the choil and with the web of the thumb over the depression above the choil. That's a very comfortable way to do finer work with the SFNO.

Id say SFNO, but the TG aint bad either. I havent used mine other than handling but I have choked up on it . My thumb goes over the top gaurd and rest on the spine fairly comfortable as well.

If you gave me the choice, and I have both, I like the SFNO better. It just feels better in the hand, and for a camp knife, the upper guard on the LBTG is a bit obtrusive.. Now.. the price of buying a new LBTG from Busse vs a buying a SFNO on the forums.. The LBTG would be the better deal.

sfnole all the way. the tglb isnt a bad knife by any means but.... would you rather have a Cadillac or a Bentley?

I have exactly the same SFNO LE you have (different number of course), I have handled both and for a camp knife I would go with the SFNO LE, the TGLB is great, excellent balance, great ergo, perfect size, etc, but I would keep my SFNO as a camp knife.

Of the two, for straight camp chores, IMHO, the nod goes to the SFNO...probably a more usable/practical profile overall. But I'll add in I haven't handled a TGLB in the flesh, just what I've seen on the 'net.

FWIW, I had a SFNOLE and sent it on to a new home...

I much prefer the nuclear meltdown treatment, and the convex edge is nice when available. So for me, after alotta searching, blade fondling, etc...the SFNO's larger brother, NMSFNO is my go-to hard-use field blade, followed by the TankBuster.

Absolutely!!
But I already spent the bucks on the SFNO.
