that's what i said to myself.... why does it take me so long getting a Becker. turns out I really dig the handle/ergonomics...!

The first Becker I own is this BK9. shortly I asked my knifemaker friend to strip the coating off, but leave the handle coating intact. and then make a leather sheath for it.

as I use it to cut several twigs and branches as it first "tougher than paper" tasks. boy it impressed me how it cuts thru the wood. after that the blade has developed a patina, this is what I really like about carbon steel blades.

I really need to cut again. before using this BK9 i was using RTAK2 and several traditional golok/parangs which not as comfy as how this BK9 handling. The blade heft was very well put, BK9 is not as long as RTAK2 and the sweet spot for BK9 located at the upswept belly gives me better control of chopping swings!

I can see this blade will be always strapped to my leg when I go packing. well might be switching places with a custom golok I just bought.

The "skinner" included in this BK9 looks very ugly! and not so comfortable in my hands. thinking of tossing it to my toolbox. Is the little knife stainless?
Thanks

Love the looks of the 9 too, i own a couple already and there is one more on it's way home, just ordered it two days ago, i modified one of them and am pretty happy the way it came out, the reason that i got me another one is I'm thinking to keep it pristine , u never know when you're gonna need a back up.BTW ,congrats on you steel, very nice looking bk9 it was a cool choice from u.

Did he remove the coating on a grinder? That's a very clean finish as most stripped Beckers have machining marks lying beneath...I need a stamped 9.

Nice! Dig that sheath too. I love my azwelke but I'm finding I'm a leather guy...

That little Blade is the BK13 Remora. It's stainless. Recently they changed to 1095CV. It's really a handy little Blade if you give it a chance...if not, I'll take it off ur hands! Shoot me a PM! My daughter has a stainless Remora that she paid for herself and I have a 1095, but I'm kinda on the look out for a backup stainless.

Next up is some scales upgrade...
I can vouch for the Ka-Bar micarta...love them, even tho I have the stock on my 9...only because I modded them and they look cool and feel nice. If I do ever strip my 9 I'd swap to micarta and leather. But for now, the black on black on black works for me

Yes, he used a belt grinder. leaves a somewhat 'frosty' finish, I like it!

I can see myself getting a micarta scales! looks great bud! As for sheath preference I prefer kydex because of easy maintenance. but leather did give a nicer look most time.
Well I can send the Remora in April. I'll shoot u a PM!

Thanks Kentwood, I really like the ideas of getting another as back-up but as for now I am intrigued to try a BK Machax... and BK-2. maybe at the end of the year I can afford another BK9 :)

Machax it's been discontinued, so better hurry up before you have to pay more for it to second parties sellers, just saying!

We were out of power for a couple of hours after I got home today. I killed the time outside with the 4. Been using it a lot lately, I really love it.
Some are put off by the design and never give it a chance. I say if you're at all interested... Do it...you won't be disappointed. If you are, they seem to sell pretty quick.

Replied by e-mail... Thanks!
