Good pickup ecll. I love that WWII by Sgt Karka. Sgt Karka's always seem more true to original intent with the pointer end to the blade rather than the the more common big bellied ones.

Darn! Missed another great looking Sgt. blade. I need to get one of his in that 17-19 size. I think I would be in love. Maybe next time. ;) Good grab! :D

Archangel, I've noticed the Sarge's WWll's tend to be more streamlined and pointed than HI does today. This is very appealing. If I'm not mistaken, Rusty once commented on the shape change in the WWll of HI.

I will open a Bura 18-inch WWII on Saturday. I'll let you know the profile to see if it's only Karka. :) (probably old style, being a Bura. Too bad, this new profile is way cool. :D )

Nam,
I'm not sure what 'old style' means. The older HI's were more streamlined and had points with less forward material. Whether this is more historic I do not know, but it is apparently the way the first HI WWll's were.

Is that villiager still there? Those horn handled WWII villiagers seem like perfect "beater" khuks!

The new ordering policies prevent me from snagging these blems. If there's anyone among the ranks of the credit card carrying cantinistas (CCCC's) who wants to earn a few dollars buying that kumar villiager for me, I'll make it worth your while!

No one wants to be my middle man on that WWII villiager? I'll send you an extra $10 and a nice Christmas card :)

...but I don't blame you guys for not wanting to mess with something like that--if it can try even Yangdu's patience, what does that mean for the rest of us?

Munk,
I agree, Sgt karkas WW2's are very sleek and I find them more appealing than the present blunt nosed HI WW2. These sort of seem a cross between a Sirupati and a WW2. His work sure looks top notch. His handles look warm to the touch. I will own one , maybe after the holidays. :rolleyes:

Archangel;

I'm a little confused about Karka- is he in Nepal, or doing this somewhere else as he goes about his life? Is his steel the same as the steel the Kamis use? All reports suggest top edge retention.

I got a Bura BAS about, oh, a year and a half ago that looks very much like the "new style" WWII's. Haven't used it much - I'm afraid it might bite! Got it in a 2-for-1 box, and while the first was beautiful (Kumar?), Bura's was downright sexy.

Munk,

What I meant is that it's a brand-new Bura. I'll see if it's the same as the current non-Karka line. (old style meant current. Remember, I'm relatively new. I forget Karka's old school. I'm newer to his work than the other Kamis') Probably, but since you mentioned a possible change at HI, I thought I'd check. :)
