Better Late Than Never

I love my fixed blade Busse and Carothers, and I’ve got a couple nice folders, but you get so much more for your money with Cold Steel folders!!
I figured this out myself not too long ago myself friend. The hits just keep coming and now the AD20.5 is coming also. ;)

I got my first CS fixed blade back in the early 90’s, carried and used different ones for years before gradually switching over to Busse.

I never gave CS folders a chance however, didn’t care for them for one reason or another.

I saw pictures over the years of the Voyager and Recon 1, read numerous reviews but always thought there was no way they could be comfortable in my hand by the way the handles were designed.

I recently got a chance to handle the Voyager and Recon 1... was I ever wrong in my assumption on the handle design... better late than never :)

The Voyager is a good place to start, when first purchase is a Cold Steel:

To twist a time honored phrase to be apropos to Cold Steel Folders, they punch above their price. Every old Steel knife I own - every one, performs better than its price point.

As others here have mentioned they provide much for the money spent. They are rugged, reliable, durable - and work!

An additional benefit was the great customer service that Cold Steel has been known to provide. The jury is still out on whether or not the new ownership will continue that attribute.

Yes they do offer a lot for the money. I've only had one with a bad grind out of at least a dozen folders. Maybe a stout lock but that's about it in my experience. I've got CS fixed blades and hawks as well, no problems there either.
