Better paring knife that looks like OXO Soft Works

Hi... It's been awhile! So I have a favorite kitchen paring knife, but I would like a nicer version of it. It's the 2nd one down in the photo. OXO Soft Works. ...But not the newest version. Well, it's not on the OXO website but various supermarket websites show the one I have. Maybe I would even still get an upgrade with a grippy handle. Maybe a bit longer blade than 3.5". I like this tapered handle shape. There have to be options like it out there! I cook a lot but don't mind using/abusing a nicer knife. Ha. Sabatier is my chef knife choice. And I like having a Laguiole around as well. I guess I lean French! Hmmm... Now I can't see how to attach an image... WOW! I just read up on it. Crazy! This must be the ONLY forum where ppl have to upload a pic to another app then share the link. ...And that regular image sharing is considered a paid perk. Oh well! I've now spent 5 minutes fooling with that. Oh rats. "Image cannot be loaded from the passed link." What does that mean? I'm now trying the BB Code malarkey and it also does not work. It simply leaves the word "view." Good luck! Maybe no pic? I've spent 10 mins on it now. Gotta go!

Weird. Now all the editing tools are greyed out. Haven't seen a forum like this... Oh well! It's been awhile since I posted here. Looks like it's been "improved"... :)

Here's a link to the OXO that I'd like a nicer lookalike for. Let's see if this works:

And here's a link to my pic on my Google Drive:

Well, closest thing I have is a vintage Chicago Cutlery "Metropolitan" 3.5 inch with a polymer handle and nickel silver pins that happens to be my favorite parer. Bought it used on eBay along with a "new old stock" one in reserve. Realize you are looking for a soft rubbery handle - me, I just don't like them for kitchen use. I like the easy cleaning of hard synthetics, or wood.

Thanks for the thought! But I really want something nicer. The grade of Chicago seems too much like screwdriver quality to me. Ha. I don't require a soft handle. Maybe just with a thought to gription. Hey, I just found a newish Sabatier that's a lot like the OXO. It's cheap. I'll get it and see if it's full tang and a bit stiffer than the OXO. Or if it just seems nicer! I was looking at vintage carbon Sabatier parers and slapping my head thinking they would be obvious, but their handles seem too slender, blade end as well. I've used them before, I recall. Too delicate. Then I found a new Japanese unbranded one on eBay with wood handles that also looks good. $50 not terrible. But maybe with too much of a "fancy" look. I might try one someday, tho. (I wish I could put pics inline. It wd save a bother...)

Might cost more money that you want to spend, but I recently bought a North Arm paring knife, and it is terrific.

Quality in what regard? Steel? Aesthetic?

I have a lot of "screwdrivers" in the same price range. The Chicago (two on the right) have good steel - for stainless - and profile. And I like the handle which is quite square offering good control.IMG_20250504_170212744~2.jpg
