Are there plans to upgrade the steel in the Endura/Delica II? (The subject was just to catch your attention, worked didn't it?

Aaron - At this time, we have no such plans. These models were offerred as a less expensive steel model for those that felt the Police Model, etc, were a little dear for their wallets/responsibilities balance.

Would the cost of using say ATS-55 be somewhat counteracted by the ability to use the exact blades from the Endura/Delica 98?
Aaron (really likes the Endura II, but wants something in ATS-55. The combination could save the purchase for another knife

Aaron - The blades are not as "identical" as it may appear. Also the produc tion of these two models is a "cooperative effort". ATS-55 is much more difficult to work with than AUS-6. The resulting change would bring the price right up there. The Police model is the next step up in Stainless handle with ATS-55.

Some of the laws in Europe have recently changed as to blade length permitted (Switzerland and Denmark were first). As a result of these changes, we have designed and are awaiting protoypes of an Endura Size (European) Police Model. If production is a go, this might be your upgrade? But more expensive.

Sorry I couldn't resist, will it be called the policier, polizist or politibetjent(no idea how to pronounce that one, but it looks cool)

amacks - actually, we did contact those distributers affected. We had the same thought. Their conclusion was that "POLICE" was still best.

Sal, I don't know if this topic has been touched on yet, so if so please do forgive.
I really like the Wegner design knife and I was wondering if there was any thought on putting out a version in 440-V? If so I would be first in line to pick up one of those bad boys.
What do you think?

William - at this time, not likely. 440V is very difficult to work with in production. We are still learning the many tricks. We will share that inforamtion with our Seki makers soon, but at this time, the equipment, special wheels, etc are not ready. In this particular case, the designer, Tim Wegner specified ATS-34.
