Better than a Bullet Pen!

Before the moderators decide to move this to Gadgets & Gear, read on. There is knife content here.

A few months ago, I lost my second Fisher Bullet pen. I've been looking for a replacement ever since. Then I discovered the Victorinox Signature Swiss Army KNIFE with retractable pen, tweezers, scissors, nail file and KNIFE blade. (The Signature Lite is the same but has a LED flashlight but no tweezers.) Folded, the KNIFE is 2 3/8" long and about 3/8" thick. The pen pulls out of the handle about 1/4 inch. By opening the nail file, the whole "pen" measures a very useable 4 inches. It even uses pressurized ink cartridges like the Fishers so it will write on practically anything! The only negative (for me) is that it only comes with blue ink. I greatly prefer black, but for the size, conveniece and "cool factor," I can live with blue ink. I love this little pen-- I mean KNIFE.

They really ought to offer it on the 91 mm models. The signatures are too small for me to use comfortably, and I carry a 91 anyway :D But the 91's have a pen that can be removed from the scale, so it's just a little harder to write with. But they can be a lifesaver sometimes

They recommend that you open the nail-file blade when using the retractable pen, so's you have something to brace against the base of your index finger while writing. Never tried it myself. --shrug--

And I'm with you on the 91mm pen; I'm always carrying a fountain pen of some kind, but every once in a while you forget...

I have the Signature Lite, and that pen has come in handy several times. The scissors are always good to have around, and I've even used the little LED light quite a bit. Great little KNIFE (gadget) to have on my keychain.

I once took an entire Latin exam with the pen on my Cybertool 29. It was a PITA, and I was quite cramped by the end, but it was better than failing, or looking like an ass and asking someone else for a pen on exam day. I almost always have a pen with me, but I always have a knife or 3. It's especially useful when one is a SAK.

Pressurized refill? I have not heard this before in an SAK pen feature. ScottR, can you verify this?

Well-- I can sorta verify. I said "pressurized" because the guys over at SOSAK (on the other forum) say the Vic pens are pressurized. If they say it, I believe it. Those guys really know their SAKs.

Perhaps someone else can step up to second this.

Victorinox's literature states that the pens are pressurized. I can confirm that they write very much like Space Pens, including on glass and other slick surfaces, and upside down.

It's easy enough to check. I just scribbled enough to write 100 words upside down and it works great. It's pressurized alright. Mine is the retracting kind, not the pull-out-seperate piece.
