Better Zip-tie ideas?

I've seen vids of people putting zip tie's to "wave" their knives. Has anyone come up with a nicer looking alternative that wouldnt require welding a bit of metal to the blade?

only other way I've seen is to grind off part back of the blade to form the hook. it's easier with spyderco's as the spyderhole can allready form the shape.
charlie mike on here has/had a fair few examples of knives waved that way, so it might be worth shooting him a message.

personally I don't usually like the look of it, although I did see a spyderco atlantic salt in plain edge that had been waved so it looked like a PE version of this that looked quite good. but mostly home wave mods end up looking a bit weird IMO.

I have been thinking of different ways to accomplish it but haven't gotten around to machining the piece yet.

I'm not sure welding is the best way to attach it because of changing the heat treat and also warping issues.

I have a mini grip with the oval hole that I modified and it works great. My best friend wanted one so I did the same thing to the round hole version and I think it works even better. Plus you can open beers with it in a pinch. I will try to get a pic of mine up later. I also have a mini skirmish that is going to get the same treatment as well as changing it to tip up. I just need to get the right size drill bit to tap the ti with.

Yup... he ^ covered it. Makes a great church key. :D

Hi
Let me introduce my Bench-wave 710:

this metal element on the back of the blade was a part of hard disc drive :)
it works pretty good
I used a two-component epoxy glue

glue is really hard, but it's easy to remove - just use a pliers
