Between these two sharpeners what do you recommend?

I am new to knives and I am too scared to use it because I do not have a proper sharpener. I am willing to drop upwards of $400 but that would take me a few months to save up for. I was wondering which sharpening set do you prefer and why.

I want to know which sharpening set comes with the best tools to use in order to get a great edge.

Please excuse my noobness to this art I am willing to learn as I go.
 
I haven't had my hands on a Wicked Edge, but I do have an Edge Pro Apex and it turned me from zero to hero. Its pretty easy with an Edge Pro to get a sick, killer edge, or a mirrored edge if you like. And it doesn't take much if any skill, which is good for Powernoodle.

I think that responding kindly to someone's first post is a wonderful thing too. As are more pics from the Edge Pro. :thumbup:

I got a edge pro, and I am very happy with the results. Still, I would like to get a wicked edge also. I'm crazy like that, and it is surprising that plenty others own both!

Same here. My EP Apex gives me edges like I never even dreamed of achieving. The good news is that you will be happy with either. I bought the EP Apex, but wish that I had gotten the EP Pro.

Whichever one you decide on, lay in a good supply of bandaids. :)

Haven't used an edge pro, but I do have the wicked edge and it is excellent. Expensive by the time you get all the stones and strops, but excellent.

So I am going to with the Wicked Edge Pro pack 1. My question for all of you is is buying a strop better or a ceramic stone?


It is between these two sets.
1.0/0.5 Micron Diamond and Leather Strops Pack or the Micro-Fine 1.4 Micron / Micro-fine 0.6 Micron Ceramic Stones Pack.
