Bevel grinding question

I've roughed out my first knife, including filing in the bevels and sanding out most of the tooling marks. It's looking pretty good, but the bevels may still be a bit too "fat". Do I go ahead and heat treat the blade (154CM), and finish the bevels with course and medium Norton S/C stones? Is that a sound approach, or should I thin the bevels out before the heat treat?

I found a nice digital camera last weekend and am trying to link that bad boy up to my 'puter. Once successful, I'll post some pics. I'm pretty proud of my new creation!

I do my knives a little differet than most I finsh my knife all the way,I grind them to finsl finish then hand rub them out,and send them to HT all I have to do when they come back is hand rub the scale of then I m done.
To answer your question, there are alot of differnt ways to do it but do what is most comfortable for you,I think it is eaiser to finish up a knife before HT than it is after so that is the way I have always done it,One point do not over stress that blade when grinding.
