I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to make a bevel on knives without usng a fancy belt sander/grinder. All I currently have is a dremel tool, files, and a hack saw. Now, I have been able to get the proper shape but have yet to do a proper bevel. I have heard of jigs but I think those are for belt sanders only. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Best way to keep everything nice and even would be to drawfile and extensive use of the marker trick to see the high-spots you need to take down.

I am very new to this too but maybe you could try filing a piece of wood first.

USE THE FILE FIRST, COAT THE AREA TO BE BEVELED WITH A MAJIC MARKER
AND THEN USE A SANDING BLOCK WITH LIKE 320 GRIT TO SEE YOUR HIGH AND
LOW SPOTS, GRADUALLY WORK YOUR WAY TO FINER GRITS UNIT YOU JAVE ACHIEVED YOUR GOAL.

I'm curious. Aren't you the owner of "The Evil Elves Workshop", a new weapon manufacturing business? Curiosity has gotten the better of me. So, naturally, I couldn't resist inquiring. I can't wait for your products to be inserted onto your website.
