My daughter lives in Spain, but a week ago she came home for the first time in two years, and plans to be in the States for a month. She brought gifts for both my wife and me. My wife received several wheels of cheese, and I received a horn-handled Joker slipjoint. I'm a bit concerned that these gifts may be an indication of how our daughter views us: my wife - Big Cheese, me - little Joker.:confused:
Anyway, here are some photos of my new knife:

When I visited my daughter in Spain, I purchased a horn-handled Joker in Toledo. Here are some pics comparing that "old" Joker (on top in each photo) with the "new" one (that came from a cuchilleria in Zaragoza, Spain). The horn on the new one isn't as polished, or has a less-finished texture, than my first one; I think I actually prefer that rougher feel.

How could you beware a Joker GT~ Looks like a great gift from a daughter who understands your knife enthusiasm :D

WOW! thats fantastic.
I'm bemused by the cheese deal though-I always thought foodstuffs especially dairy were a big no no for putting in the luggage to bring home from overseas-maybe its an Aussie thing.I would get the knife trhough no worries but not the cheese.

Extremely nice gift and knife GT. I would have a hard time choosing between the 2 , but I would have to choose the one that is a gift from a daughter. That leaves you free to send me the other one.

That is awesome, you are a very lucky dad:thumbup:

You need to walk into your kitchen and ask your wife if she cut the cheese:)

Maybe she's been reading your posts and looking at your avatar?

Pretty cool gifts I'd say, I love both cheese and knives. I'm surprised she got the cheese through, I couldn't get an empty diet Coke bottle out of the Dominican Republic a few years ago!

LOL! Very good GT! :D That's a great-looking knife my friend

Thanks for the laugh, GT!! I'd say she loves your very much and thoughtfully selected some gifts!!! And the best part...her for a month!!

She has her father's eye for beauty and her mother's taste for the good things :D:thumbup: Not a bad combination in anybody's book.

Those Shadow Horns look extremely nice, I need one! When she returns to Espagna drop her a hint, I'm only the other end of Europe:D

Regards, Will
