--> WARNING <--

To all the wimps of untouchable show-case-knives, please don´t scroll down!

You might see terrible blade abusing and hardcore testing pics!

Here you will see all the stuff you should never do with a normal knife!

I´m not responsible for heart attacks caused by these pictures!

You still there?

Sure?

Last chance to save your heart!

Ok, we start with a little wood-chopping competition:

Stabbing, digging, slashing for around 15 (!) minutes into wet sand, ground and a lot of stones:

The blade looks still good:

Next I smashed the tip (!) of the blade for around 30-40 times in this concrete(?) with chips(?).

(Am I using the right words?)

The blade is blunt, but still ok:

The price for this hard work is a nice cold bath:

Conclusion: you can´t shave your hair, but the blade + coating is still in good condition!

A little bit of work, but a lot of fun! ;)

You crazy bastard, cool pics!

I have done all that with my larger knives, minus the 'stabbing concrete' part. That would only cause me an hour of edge re-profiling practice which I dont need :)

Oh, and since you asked..

Next I smashed the tip (!) of the blade for around 30-40 times in this concrete(?) with chips(?).

(Am I using the right words?)

It would more likely be worded..

Next I jammed the tip of the blade around 30-40 times into this broken concrete.

Even if you are a little on the extreme side of knife use, Id much rather see pics of them in action then lying there in mint condition.

I need to remember to take my digital camera next time I'm out hunting.

I agree with you. But I don´t do this every day. And not with every knife. ;)

Hey were is the mpeg???
I wanna see some violence against concrete and wood, while Scorpions Animal Magnetism is playing in the background.

You sacrificed for us all. No need for any of us to do that now.

Hope my Battle Rat holds up as well under such abuse. Just bought a used Battle Mistress today that the gentleman tells me has never been outside in the sun.

Next time I make some mpg´s. But they would be X-rated for sure! ;)

@ Riitschraatsch: nice to see you here! :)

Howdy t1mpani. :) Yep, decided to post here although I had been lurking for a couple of years. Bought a used BM off of the rec.knives group and am anxiously awaiting its arrival along with my new Battle Rat.

I'll probably keep mostly lurking but I am enjoying reading the posts.

Those are some cool pics! Great to see a good knife used rather than as a safe queen.

One test I like to ocasionally do is chop into old 2X4's with a few rusty nails in them...and "accidently" hit a nail or two. I have done this without intention before when chopping wood for fire...wood that I salvaged from a camp dump....and I think that it is a realistic test. A real eye opener too!

Keep those pictures handy, the next time you are interestedin a non-busse knife ask the maker/manufacturer if it stands up to a little hard use and show them the pictures. You will probably get more than a few interesting reactions.
