Note the box, the snap with just one "Buck" stamped on it and the cheezy sheath. Also, no date stamp, just Buck/119/USA. It's supposed to be new in the box.

Thank you kindlyCalifornia Dave.

I ran into an automatic fake buck on Utube and asked the poster to take down the video due to the knife being a fake.

No problem Steve. If this is a fake as I suspect, they went to even further lengths with this one. I enlarged the first picture to more clearly show the card in the box. Look familiar?

Oh yeah.....it's a fake.

So......looks like three spacers.

Are they Micarta?

:)

I don't agree it is a fake. The box was for knives distributed in Canada at the time(late seventies, early eighties I guess). I gave the remaining unused Canada boxes to John Foresman as a donation to the Buck Collectors Club via Larry Oden last year so don't let the box throw you off. The knife and sheath looks genuine to me. The boxes originated with the boyfriend of Gail Kettles (Bancroft, Ont.) who had a sporting goods distribution company in Toronto. I bought the remaing boxes of various sizes from Gail several years after her boyfriend's death. FYI.

I just looked at the auction. While the spacer count is odd, they are micarta. The location is listed as New York so maybe it is a Canadian variation.

With only 3 spacers in would make sense that there is no date mark, only BUCK 119 USA, as for the sheath, my three spacer 119 has the flatter snoopy sheath marked BUCK on the snap as well as embossed on the front leather. I cant say anything about the box, except I have never seen one like that before. I have seen that card before. I think the knife is real.

Canada??? I don't know

Dick is correct ,I have the same Canadian boxes with 1980's 124's in them ,got them a few years ago.
The 119 is not fake.

Thanks all, especially Richard and Ron. I wasn't sure, that's why the ? in my title. The box threw me but then seeing the text on the card make me think. Learn something new everyday.

That's my favorite 119 sheath, the belt loop swivels independent from the body of the sheath, and no plastic insert. For me, for hunting, I like it better.
