Beware!
Visited The Gateway Arch in St. Louis this last weekend. After a 45 minute wait to get through security, I saw a sign the Feds had posted next to the entrance. It pictured a Kershaw scallion and stated that no weapons were allowed and that all "assisted opening" knives were "considered" to be switchblades and would be seized. So be advised that the Feds are playing loose with their interpretation of the law. I would assume that all Federal facilities act the same so leave your knife in the car.

I wouldn't take anything beyond a keychain fob size knife to a federal park like the Gateway Arch given current politics. I am also not surpised at the reaction to assisted opening knives. I always figured that sooner or later someone would start saying they were switchblades.

I'm with Anthony...no suprise here. I've carried my Ladybug through security but I wouldn't take much more.

Michigan tried to outlaw Kershaw speed-assist knives on the basis of the switchblade law, but Kershaw took them to court and won. Now all Michigan knifeshops can legally sell them. :p
