Well, the time has arrived. I've hit 1000 posts and it's time to give something back. I used to think I was a knife enthusiast until I joined the forums, but now it's ten times worse -- you guys and gals know the feeling. 
This is a great place, and it's nice to know that I there are many people out there like myself. It's also nice to know that no matter where I traveled in the world, there would probably be a knife knut there that would be happy to sit down over lunch and talk knives.
Anyway, thanks all for all the help, humor, and instruction (especially you shoptalk fellows).
Alrighty -- here it goes. I don't have a specific knife to give away yet, but I'm offering a custom knife made by myself to whoever wins the contest. The knife style and design will be decided by me, and it might be a month or two before it gets finished. I thought about waiting until I had a knife finished for the contest, but decided the 1000th post was a good time to do it. Plus, I figured it would be exciting to win something without knowing what it is. But, I know it will be a fixed-blade knife with probably a 3-7 inch blade.
The winner must be of legal age to possess a knife, and all state knife laws will apply. I will pay shipping within CONUS.
Don't worry -- International folks will not be left out. You all are welcome to participate, but will have to pay shipping for the knife (sorry about that). As stated above, shipping and knife laws apply here too.
Enough with that stuff though -- here's the contest: Since my dog went through surgery recently, I will base this contest off of him. Whoever guesses his birthday will win the knife. Two guesses per forumite, and if no-one guesses the right date by the 1st of August, the prize goes to the closest guess. If two forumites guess around the date, I will flip a coin for the winner.
