EXCELLENT!!! I just got a call from Spyderco, and my BF Native is on its way back from Colorado. Whew! I was really starting to miss my knife. Anyway, the customer service rep (what a nice lady, wish I had caught her name; but when she said she was from Spyderco, her name went right out my other ear. DANG IT!!) said they're sending it out today.
The girl said that they checked the heat treat, and it turned out to be 55-56 (Vince had already sent me a message saying that), so it is spot on. Apparently the edge angle was correct as well. So, at this point, I think that my "problems" with my BF Native were more than likely just me expecting more from the blade steel that was reasonable. I can certainly say that it get's sharper than most all of my other knives, except MAYBE the GIN-1. But, then the Gin-1 won't hold the edge quite as long.
I certainly have been VERY happy with the response from Spyderco, and they have moved themselves right up to the top of my list of companies to buy from. Hmmmm... I guess it's time for me to ante up my money for a Military....
