Aloha.
I was just wondering out loud how many BFC folks live in Hawaii also.
Mahalo for your time,
Tector

I'm going to school in Seattle, but am from Manoa. I'm going home for spring break though! YEAH!!!

Also, Tom Mayo (Wailua), Ken Onion (Kapolei), and paranoid9999 (aiea) and I know there's a bunch more out there.

Aloha from Hawaii!
I'm a BladeForums member living in Hawaii.
I tried to tell my wife that I wasn't the only knifenut living in the islands but she never listens to me. Go figure!

Mahalo,
Ross

Howzit to you folks.
Looks like the tip of the Hawaii iceberg.
How many of you going to the gun and knife show at the Blaisdell in March? Hope to see some nice blades there.Maybe see you all there or at Zippys.
mahalo,
Tector

I live in MD, about as far from Hawaii as you can get and still live in the states. But, I'm going to Maui in March for a few days.

Tell me more about the gun and knife show at the Blaisdell. I'm going to be home from March 17-24. What days is it running from?

Mahalo,
Mitch

I'll be at the Gun show

...I always fly over for this great semi-annual event. I've found some pretty good deals at the show: Dozier, Randall, Mitsuyuki, Fujisaka, etc.

Sorry Rockspyder, ZERO Knife shops here, but you can look forward to some great beaches.

Basecamp- directly across for Makawao steak house....carries my knives...although I have been very negligent in getting him any new stuff for a while....dont know about anywhere else over there.....Young Guns on Oahu is the best place for blade selection, and I am sure Syderco has a store in Kona. See you guys at the Gun Show....or drop by anytime (please call first)...tom/just finished this yesterday

No kidding there. BEAUTIFUL beaches. This will be my third time to Maui (I guess you can just call me an official tourist... sorry about that). I love the island! Last time I was over, in '97, I hit Wainapanapa, Hana, and quite a few beaches along the coast between Kaanapali and Makena (hope I remembered how to spell all those correctly). My wife and I keep wanting to do some bpacking around there, but it seems that the best place, Haleakala, is pretty restricted. Combine that with the difficulty of lugging all your bpacking equipment all the way from MD, and it just isn't worth it. This time, we're coming over for the Maui Marathon, so we'll pretty much be taken up with that.

Is Makawao the town partway up Haleakala? What is the steak house food like? Good? Maybe I can scam a dinner there, and hop over to Basecamp....
