Can Buck still put a BG-42 blade on my 112. Also when is Buck going to start offering D-2 in the coustom shop and as blade upgrade option.

Yep...I got an e-mail at least a month ago from BCS saying they were about ready to start making the 110 DM.
I think they are working in dawg years.
Goose.

OH, got the "still" part regarding the 112 Trax. Yeah, what El Pollo said..."still?"

..."Still"???...

Last year, I think it was, I saw a thread that Joe H. responded to. He mentioned that there were a few BG-42 112 blades left over from...maybe the master series??? I called and asked if there was one available. There was, I sent in a 112 and got a BG-42 blade on it. Preston

It's odd that none of our Staunch Supporters of the 112 have mentioned it...I would have thought that Mike Kerins would have a nice shiny pic of the BG-42 112... :)

I guess that means you weren't here when that thread was posted either... :(

(It was before my finding this Forum)

Maybe Preston will post a pic of his...

Gawd, you know how I hate to post pictures of my Bucks...:D

The BG-42 is etched on the tang, not stamped as the current batch of 110 blades. I don't know if this is from the Master Series or not. Perhaps someone with their vast collection and knowledge will be able to say for certain. Leroy rehandled this with nice ebony.

I wish I could find that post...Preston

A few years ago (California days) Joe Houser convinced Buck to produce a small run of BG-42 blades for the 112, after a lot of discussion and requests from members here. You could send in a 112, new or used, and they would do a swap for you. The number of blades produced was never revealed as far as I know, but I remember that after the initial surge of orders there were a few left over. They have slowly been used up since then but I don't think I ever heard Joe say they're gone, just that very few remained. If you want one, it might still be possible. I had two done and they are very nice indeed.

Looked again and found the thread that tells the story:

Looks like they made around a hundred.

Whew...2002!!! Long time ago!

Too bad...I have a NS 112 here that I would love to have rebladed...after Mike gets his... :D

I had two 112's rebladed with BG-42 May 05 .When i contacted Joe Houser about the project he stated he only had three or four BG-42's left. They're stamped Buck Custom USA on the left side ricasso and etched BG-42 on the right side.

Best way to find out if they are still available is to email Joe. I had one done a while back and it's a sweetie.
Bob
