I've read about the BG 42 bade swap on some of the posts and I'm really interested. Can I still get it done, is the price still $30.00 plus $5.00 shipping and handling? Do I send it to the attn of Joe Houser at the 1900 Weld Ave address?
My other questions relate to the blade steel. What is the hardness of it? Is it brittle? Is it stainless? Sounds like it holds an edge well, how hard is it to sharpen?
I'm really hooked on those photos of Buzzbaits Buckbenza and would like to do same with my 560.
Thanks for your help, I know it was a lot of questions.

Bob,

its around 61 +/- 1 HRC according to Paul Bos and the Buck people, its not brittle and yes its stainless - it does take and hold an incredible edge and with the right equipment is not too tough to sharpen - I would recommend the Spyderco Sharpmaker using the optional Diamond stones and then use the 30° positions to match Bucks E2K. And make shure to get a one-armed bandit for it to.

And me too got hooked by Buzz´ "Buckbenza" - well worth the effort to get one - I think it only lately got topped by the new Buck/Mayo "TNT" #172 with Ti handles and S30V blade.

Regarding availability questions Joe might chim in soon enough.
