A few months ago I sent a 110 to the Custom Shop for the blade upgrade with stag scales. I intended on using it for the upcoming deer season but now with the apparent shortage of BG-42 , I'm wondering if it should "go in the safe" or use it as planned.

...I'd really be more cautious than that...I'd send it to me immediately so's I can keep a close eye on that knife...It will never be worth much to anyone but you (coff, coff ) but knowing that it is in good hands where it will be kept safe and well fed will put your mind at ease as to it's welfare...:D :D :D

...Scoop...There's no reason to not use a knife like that unless you do want to put it away as a collectors piece for your own pleasure or if you want to sell it if you think you will make some kind of profit on it. I have 110's that have BG-42 and stag scales that I've sharpened as they've needed it and if it's done properly you'd never know they were ever used. Those that I use could be placed right up there on the mantel for display and they all look brand new...It's a shame not to let those knives do what they were made for...The choice is always your's...but if you have one now...they do tend to "reproduce" themselves quickly...:)

We should all send Darryl a knife, in care of his wife, with a "paid in full receipt" included in the package. After she beats him up, she may sell off his knife collection cheap!
Porky

  ...That would be a dirty trick porky...I'm "slinkin' " around like I'm walkin' on egg shells as it is...LOL...I just snuck in an Ebay purchase yesterday that I'm trying to figure out how I'm gonna justify to that "silly and sometimes violent lady"... :p ( Lord don't let her see this thread... ) ...LMBO...
