BG-42 field knife: shoudl be very COOL!

I think that is the one we got to play with at Blade! It was a great "feeling" knife and was VERY light!:D
The folks at the SOG booth said that they MIGHT be doing it in 2002 . . . glad to hear that has been moved up! Cliff, my bet is that they won't be sending you one for testing though!!:D ;) :D

Very cool knife! Do you know if there is any chance of some cocobolo or maybe even desert iron wood scales? Probably not, but we can all dream :D .

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the nice comments. We are very excited about this knife!

Regarding the handles, they are VERY easily removed. Anyone wishing to make custom handles or cord wrap it, should find their task easily accomplished.

Whoa! Next thing you know, SOG will put an actual useful blade shape on the Vision, and then they'll be a real contender in the folder category. I'm convinced they haven't done this yet because the CFO can't figure out what to do with all the profit :) :) :)

I don't usually care much for production fixed blades because you can get a hand made one with premium steel and individual heat treating for not much more money, but I am really looking forward to the availability of this knife. I like the ergonomic look of the handle design, and with the conventional edge profile, it looks like a very useful and efficient cutting tool. Outstanding design and premium steel for around $100 always gets my attention.

Oh, and while I am here making a nuisance of myself, I would suggest getting rid of any hint of recurve and supplying a Kydex sheath standard.
