May I ask a question about a Sebenza. I am considering a possibility to get a small Sebenza. However, I would like to have one with the BG-42 blade, not S30V. So the question: can one distinguish a BG-42 blade from the S30V blade? Is there any mark, letters, whatever? Problem appears with people in shops - they usually do not know much about steels.
I would get it here in Europe, and any suggestion of sending knife to US would not work, at least not without complications.
Unfortunately the prices here are very high - a small Sebenza costs almost $600.

Thanks,

Franco

Hi Franco,

Every Serbenza which left CRK shop have box and papers from which you can read hardness, date of production and steel used. Try asking the salesman for it.

Good luck with your future Sebbie, it's a great knife indeed!

The S30V blades have an S engraved on them near the pivot hole. You have to remove the blade to see.
