…..continuing to chop:D:D, and yes compare to Burp, as expected BG FBM is chopping much better due to its size, weight and blade profile. Also, I think it is well balanced blade at least I felt like that while swinging it. The edge hold up well till now!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I applaud you chopping gents. I seem to only be able to look at INFI lightly, and put it back in the velvet box! ;););)

It is.
Have you ever tried NMFBM or MOABOLO? could you tell me about their chopping ability?

NMFBM yes, MOABOLO no. There comes a point when a chopper is so forward heavy that it crosses the barrier as a do it all knife. Bigger blades will outchop an FBM, physics is physics. However, you loose a lot of usability with such a heavy large knife. The FBM can still be used for fine work without a lot of exertion. Bigger knives than the FBM come at the price of more exertion in every task you use a knife for. This is where the difference comes in and why I prefer a 15-16.5" blade for overall use. Of course this is all my own experience. There are many that prefer a much larger blade and many more that prefer the smaller blades. What are you willing to realistically carry. All my day packs have a pocket between the main compartment and my back that can fit a 15-16" blade, so that is what I stick to.

That is excellent mistress insight, its the balance and utility in addition to their size and strength that makes them special.

The NMFBM is a chopping machine. It is a pure pleasure to chop with but as Cobalt said there is always a trade off when it comes to size and weight. That being said the NMFBM is an outstanding knife and one of my all time favorites. The BG FBM is a great value and a big plus is that it is currently available on the Busse Combat web-site.
