bg42 carbon fiber military numbers

i`m getting one of these soon , and i looked at a few websites which suggest they are a 2006 sprint run . but i`ve seen 2 different numbers of production : 1 suggests that there were a 1,000 made , and one suggests they were 1,500 made . which one is it?

I have had one for almost 2 weeks. Have carried it some but not exclusively during this time. Nothing more than some fruit and cheese cut at this point but I'm very happy with the knife.
