I know this has probably been discussed to death but I missed it! So can someone tell me which is better? Oh yea I found someone that will sell me either. So, which Spyderco Military would be the ultimate? BG42 or the Sv90?

Thanks guys. :)

Get both of them while you can! I have both along with S30 and D2 and cannot say that I prefer BG42 over S90 or visa versa.

I think im going to get both! But not at the same time. (money is tight) Im leaning towards the BG42 for now. If they still have the sv90 in a month I will get it too! (I doubt it) :(

I'd get the S90V one. Oh wait.... is the S90 one a carbon fiber handle? Ugh. I hate those. I'd get which ever one has the G10 handle..

Thanks for the replies guys! Well, Ive been trying to research alot about both steels and some forums are saying that the BG42 is like CM154 on steroids. That BG42 steel is easy to sharpen and it keeps a good ege for a while! Now they are saying that the sv90 is a very good steel too on this knife but it is very hard to sharpen. Owners of the Mili SV90 knives are also saying that once its sharp it will keep an edge for a long time! Damn! which one?? hmmm!

The S90V is the newer more 'exotic' steel. For whatever that is worth. I don't have any BG42 but the S90V I have will get really sharp and does hold it for a long time. If you have diamonds or paper wheels it won't be that hard to sharpen.

BG-42 is easier to sharpen and holds an edge better than it has any right to. But the Millie in my pocket is the S90V, and it is the only one I have bought a back-up for.

For a collector, BG-42. For a user, S90V.
Also, apparently the run of Orange Mili's had extra good fit and finish.

I got to play a little with an S90V millie a while back, and it would be my first choice. I was really impressed with the edgeholding in cardboard and sisal, and I really like the texture of the CF handle scales on it.

i'll confirm that. REALLY slick built, nice pieces, those orange ones.

FWIW, i'd go the BG42, it's one of my favorite steels, seems to act a bit like S30V but chips less.
