BGFSH thickness comparison

I'm trying to decide which BGFSH I want. The 3/16" or the 5/16". The thickest blade I have currently is 1/4". If the BGFSH was offered in .22 I would get that one for sure. So my question for all you veteran hogs is which thickness works best for what? Also what differences are there besides the obvious weight and thickness. I mean performance wise what would be the big differences?

Thanks

If I could get both I would, but it's one or the other.

I'd like to know as well. 5/16" may be too robust for anything but a chopper but I want to hear from others how the difference in blade thickness effects the function of an 8.25 inch blade. Thanks

IMO if this were my only dedicated chopper/survival/wood beater I'd go thick, but since I personally have a few big 1/4" choppers I would likely grab 3/16" if I were to order one.

I opted for 3/16" on my Chop House and I think it was a great choice.

The FSH (not NMFSH) came in a variety of thicknesses. IMHO the best was 0.27", either saber or flat grind. Next, for me, was the original at 0.25". There were also fatties, but not my taste.

The 5/16" NMFSH is a GREAT camp knife! Granted, it is FFG so it has slightly better geometry than the flat saber of the BGFSH.

So I just caught up with the offering notice and the specs. Gonna pass on this one, since I have an order in for the SHE II, but if I was to order a BG FSH it would be in 3/16", so as to not be to heavy for general use. YMMV.
