Last year, I picked up a BHK bushcrafter, after reading an article in Backwoodsman by our very own moderator, and seeing some reviews. Great knife, but I do not like coatings (I know, I know, for the 4140 saw blade steel), and the handle was unfortunately too small for my paws. I'm fickle, I know...

At Scott Gossmans Columbus Day weekend campout, Tim Stetzer told me to check out the Scaatycrafter, a beefier version of the Bushcrafter made specifically for a member on Knifeforums. I just picked up my Scaatycrafter on the way to work this morning.

The day started out pretty crappy. It's cold, raining, gonna turn to snow later today. I am sick as a dog, I feel like I got run over by a truck, and then it backed up again to finish the job. Some other crap going on too. Getting the Scaatycrafter was a bright spot this morning.

This knife is just right for my paws! O1 uncoated blade, black micarta scales. Fits just right. I foresee a good weekend in the woods with this knife. LT, Dan, Tim and Scaaty collaborated on a great knife! I can't wait to get out and use it. Great edge too!

I picked up one at the Dec. knife show and love it.
I did replace the sheath with one of Sherry Lott's. The handle is what makes this knife.
Great choice!

This thread is screaming for pics....

Shhhh, the Scatty is an underground knife :) Never advertised, never sold on the web site, and when we do have some made for a show, they just hang out on the table with no name and no price. It's one of my favorites for sure!

Tried to put more pics up by the Image Shack isn't cooperating right now. There are video's of it on You Tube.

Here are a few pics of the Scattycrafter built by LT and Dan at BHK...An amazing design by Tim and Scatty. Thanks all for another great BHK product!!

Who would have guessed anything with Scatty's name on it would look so good..

:p:D

Specs on the Scatty are
9 3/4" OAL
4 1/2" blade
5/32" spine
1 3/8" width of blade

We have the Black Canvas Scattycraters in stock now. The Green Canvas will be available a little later in the year in both grinds.

I think if you contact LT or Dan at BHK you could Custom order one. They havent made many of these, and at this point they are all Custom ordered, even the few we have.

Dang I just got the regular BHK bushcrafter, but I like that handle better I think.
