BHK scout platoon saber vs highlander saber??

I'm having trouble deciding which one to get and would appreciate some opinions from people who have actually used one or both of these blades. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy both and ship them all the way to Australia to test them out!

The scout has a 5 3/8" cutting edge and is 5/32" thick. Apparently the handle is more comfortable than the highlander's.

The highlander has a 5" cutting edge and is 3/16" thick. It's $50 less than the scout.

I assume there wouldn't be much difference between the two when it comes to finer tasks such as slicing, carving and whittling, but the scout would probably be a bit better for chopping (longer handle to choke down on) and battoning (longer blade).

I'm also open to suggestions of similar blades from other manufacturers.

I have never used a Highlander, but I liked my Scout so much that I have another on order. Great hard use woods knife. You can get the Scout in a full flat grind if you wanted more slicing ability. My saber grind slices pretty well.
