Hi All,

I am interested in any information I can find (outside of the 2007 Spyderco Catalog) on the (non-serrated) Bi-Fold model. Any reviews, or dates on when this will be available? Does anyone have it now? Thanks in advance!

From here, the last official news I heard of the release date was October/November, which seems to have almost passed. So I'd say probably some time in the first half of 07, since it's already in the catalogue? MSRP is $74.95. I think the only people who would have it would be Sal and co.

The concept was a folding SPOT, and given the shape and all, I'm guessing it'll be pretty close to the SPOT, but it doesn't have a reverse-S blade, so that might change things.

Unfortunately, that's about all I know at the moment.

I wanted a SPOT, back when they were in production. I'm sure I will like this even better! Looking forward to it. Anyone else have any more information?

How easy/fast is it to open one of these? I love new opening mechanisms and locking mechanisms...oh, and where's this thing made again?

From what I've heard from those who've handled the proto, it's pretty fast. Just get your finger in the hole, flip the switch, and pull the trigger. The following is pure conjecture on my part. I think the hardest part would be getting your finger in the hole, especially looking at the clip's placement, but that's just me. Oh, and if you're a leftie, things might be a bit harder, given how the handle opens.

Looking around, absolutely no clue on its place of manufacture, or even what kind of steel it's made of. Bit of help Sal?!?

Hopefully as promising as it looks.

Provided it's made in America or Japan, for me...
