Been checking out the Black Widow model 5 from Bianchi for my Glock 19; does anyone have one that could comment? Thanks!

Since no one has answered I'll take a crack at it. The short answer is, I don't know because I haven't bought one yet. The longer answer is I have had a Bianchi thumbreak holster for my .45 for 30 or so years and I consider it my best holster, certainly my best conceal carry holster. It is high quality and I consider the thumbreak design the best there is (IMHO). I am going to get another holster for my Glock, and the Black widow, is very likely the one I'm going to get. Let me know what you think if you buy it.

I have used the Black Widow for the G19 and for a Ruger SP101. They both worked well for me. They carry pretty high and are secure. The only drawback is that the weapon is exposed.....that creates two problems. If you have a weapon that you don't want scratched on your jeans, etc...well, your outa luck. And the second problem is if your concealing garment moves and somebody notices they WILL see a portion of the weapon. A traditional "full" holster might be mistaken for a knife sheath etc.....This one will not. YMMV.

I don't like how much space the Black Widow takes up on the belt. If you have a big ass waist it will work for you. The belt loops IMO are too far apart.

Take a look at the Bianchi 19 , and 119 Talon. The 19 is a regular high ride that is just an excellent concealment holster. The Talon has a super heavy duty spring clip that hooks to your belt. Both are excellent.

I have a relatively small waist for a not so small guy, and always felt I had to tighten (uncomfortable) my belt to pull the BW into my hip.

I guess more than anything it's personal preference.

The 19 is my favorite 9mm pistol. Don't overlook the Clip pon IWB holsters like the Don Hume. The DH IWB is my favorite; very concealable, and secure.
