Bic's downhill?

For years I kept the basic clear plastic Bic stick pen around as a stash pen. In the glove box of the truck, on the desk where I make out my bills and so on. They always worked great.

Now it seems like they go south before the ink in them is half used, they just stop writing. Like the pen tip is turned to junk. The last bag of them I got from the store I opened the bag of a dozen, and five did not write at all brand new. I took them back to the 'mart and now I've just went back to my old standby Cross. It seems to always work.

Anyone else notice the Bic's lack of quality these days?

Nah... I seem to lose them before they go south. They're cheap enough so I don't really worry overmuch about how long they last.

I know what you mean about the ball getting stuck and them not writing even though there is ink in them. Like Ed, I lose pens and pencils more frequently than they die, so investing in a nicer utensil isn't really worth it.
