Looking for a fighting bowie, a big one, 11" Maybe up to 13". Must have a full flat grind and a thick spine and a guard, like the CS laredo etc. Would love something w/ a fighting guard and coffin handle like the bagwell bowies.
I would be happy w/ an 11" Ontario Bagwell Hell Belle but I was too foolish in the past to realize how great of a design it is and now they are DQ'd. Love the coffin handle & the guard in addition to the blade design.
THe laredo is pretty close but I understand it is a little heavier, not as lively in the hand, a little more of a chopper than a fighter.
I am aware of the HI Rose, but again, that might be a bit on the heavy & ponderous side??
From what I understand, Bagwell's bowies have a COB about 1" in front of the guard, is that correct?
I'd be willing to spend up to $300.
There is the Fallkniven but that's only 10" I think.
THanks
Here are a couple Winlass which might could work I guess & another one at imperial weapons:

PS: does the keating/bagwell method teach a saber grip or some sort of hammer grip?
