Big and small folders in EDC rotation

Hi,

I thought I'd show my "big folder" and "small folder" EDC blades (sorry about the poor quality photo... would have taken too long to set up nicely).

I tend to carry the smaller ones with more dressy clothes at work, and the bigger folders with jeans etc. after work.

The last week or so, the large folder of choice has been the SNG, and the small one is the Dozier stag small folding hunter. The stag Dozier is the only knife that I own that I'm afraid to carry... it is absolutely perfect stag which I asked to be kept as the thick, rough slabs when I ordered the folder, and I believe that the Dozier shop has run out of stag and has taken a break from making folders. It would be impossible to replace this, but I love to carry it!

In the pic, the big knives on the left (top to bottom) are the Strider SNG, Ritter Grip, and a Spyderco Manix.

The small knives on the right are the Dozier, a Ritter Mini-Grip, a small Sebenza with desert ironwood inlays, and a BenchMite.

Nice EDC collection you got going there.

I'm loving that Dozier and can understand your hesitation to carry it but I'm glad to hear it still see's pocket time. I have a few knives that I think twice about carring but I always do it anyway. I mean we bought these knives to carry and use didn't we? :)

I tend to carry a larger folder with a small sheeple friendly folder. Less gasping and staring if I use my Loveless City Knife around people instead of a MercWorx Atropos. Although I can't really use my City Knife to cut through the 3" rubber dampener that holds my muffler strap in place like I can with the Atropos. The metal strap rusted in half and was swinging into the left rear tire. Glad I noticed it coming out of the grocery store yesterday or it could have been bad. So I tend to carry 2 edc blades for different purposes. The smaller blade for more mundane tasks and the larger for unexpected tasks. :D

Beautiful set of EDC's, which includes several knives I've been curious about lately and their relative size. The photo is fine, thanks for posting!

Nice to see the Strider with the other knives of known (to me) size. I thought the SNG was a little bigger than that.

Some days I like to carry this pair from Al Mar.

Nice :)

I like that idea of carrying a big and small folder (as mentioned above by Physics as well), giving the option of using the smaller one if it seems best to avoid raised eyebrows (like handing over a Manix to cut off a stray thread)

No pictures but I carry a Chris Reeve Sebenza and a Burt Foster Blue collar hunter (in a neat horizontal sheath).

I will also rotate a Burchtree Cashmere EDC into the mix.

Nothing like carrying large and small. Some knives just are not suitable in some types of company. I would hesitate to hand over a Strider AR to trim a thread!:D
