Took the dogs on a hike that led to the coast today, nice views on the way:

Did a little exploring and found some tracks where a Raccoon had been foraging:

Nice pictures as usual Pit! I just had to look to see what an ass bird was! :p

Wow. No concerns about the eagle swooping down to take the dog? I instantly thought of the scene in the movie "The Proposal" where the eagle snatches Kevin the dog from Sandra Bullock's character.

Aren't Golden Eagles the ones that have been filmed\photographed picking up foxes  Your terrier could have become dinner!

I would have been a-skeered of the dog being picked up. Then again, I have never been that close to a golden eagle. Great pics as usual, though, Pit.

Good greif lol. you got some good sized birds up there lol.

I also sent a E-mail. The tracker knife is back up on the front burner lol. The double cut saw teeth
are going to get done:thumbup:.

some where in there is a joke about Snickers and you are not you when you are hungry

Holy frick those are big flippers ! I've seen bald eagles in the north and they are large birds also. The warden and I came across a pair a couple of years ago and we kept a long distance from them because of their nesting. So YOU are the one with that SAK ! I nearly bought one last week, still might.

that's awesome pit. I would love to see a golden eagle in person

As a kid living in England I'd go on vacation to Scotland with my grandparents every year with hopes of seeing a Golden eagle ( or the Loch Ness monster, but that's another topic entirely !), in all those years I think I saw one. They are still not very common over here but I'll maybe see one every month or so.

What a magnificent bird!
Not many chance to see their footprints. Really amazing!
Thanks for posting.

When I lived in Utah I startled a golden eagle once that was eating a blue grouse. Maybe all the snow muffled my sound, and I got within about 15 yards and didn't know it was there. It was down in a stream bed next to the trail. It just swooped off with a single stroke of its wings. A majestic bird.
