Thanks for all the comments.

This is my first Big Bear with the Loveless-designed cold fit guard.

Here's the finished knife:

Thanks for looking. :)

Knife and sheath look great, always enjoy seeing your work, everything is so straight, tight and symmetrical.

Looks like brass and SS screws? original style?

I've been trying to make some, only SS screw and brass nut and washer. Pretty simple to make but to fit and grind to the right depth will be a challenge.

I'm wondering what grind radius you use? Noticed you sold a 4" and 5" wheel lately and SR Johnson used a 3" in his video.

I'm no Loveless expert but I think that's a very fine looking knife.

Marcus, on the first pic, the feeling was a 6 foot blonde just unhooked her bra :D

Hi that looks great. What exactly is the loveless cold fit guard?

The guard is cold fitted with a Loctite product (I use JB Weld) instead of being soldered. The tolerances have to be very tight, and the guard is push fitted over the blade with the "sealant" in place. It eliminates any possibility of corrosion from trapped flux over the years.

I use the original Loveless bolt design. I like how they work ... plus it just makes sense in terms of strength. They're turned on my lathe ... all hardware is stainless steel these days.

The Big Bear was ground on a 5" wheel, it results in a stronger blade.

(I just had two 4" and 5" wheels, figured that if I didn't need or use them on a daily basis I would sell them. I'm actually paring down my shop this year to the bare essentials ...).

I may be wrong as I haven't seen the video in a long time, but I believe the subhilt Steve made in his video wasn't a Big Bear. It was a subhilt, but wasn't to Big Bear dimensions. Also, if I remember correctly, he used 3/16" stock?

Thanks Marcus
You're right ,sub-hilt fighter is what SR Johnson made in his video, I need to view it again.
