Here is a knife I finished up a couple weeks ago.

A Loveless style Big Bear with Amber Stag scales and hidden bolts.

CPM-154 Blade 416ss guard and sub-hilt.

8 3/8" Blade and 14" OAL

I sent the knife to Buddy Thomason for some glamor shots. I think he did an outstanding job.

Thanks for looking

Charles

Nice sculpting of the hilt, Charles.

Did the Loveless Tour change anything about how you build your knives, and if so, what?

I'm no Loveless expert, but I think that's a great looking knife. Good shot by Buddy, too.

Awesome knife!! One of my favourites too.Like Murray says a mated chute would be the icing on the cake for a collector.

It's a long high drive over the center field wall.....! :D

Great work, Charles. What a winner!

Buddy never ceases to impress and surprise us. :)

Steven,

The Loveless tour was a great opportunity to see the subtle details of guard and handle shaping.

I am trying to incorporate these details in to the knives I am now making.

Rounding of the handle scales from the tang to the side of the handles. More of a gradual transition of the guard from the side to the finger cut out. Rounding of the scales with less of a flat look.

One of the things that really stood out on stag handled Loveless knives is how thin most of the handle scales are at the guard and how quickly they rise to the palm swell. I will be paying close attention to this detail.

Take care

Charles
