No maker's marks that I can find, but a solid ten pounds of fire fighting fury! Handle is still solid, although I want to get the pitch/stickum/pine tar off the end (ideas anyone?) I'll polish the head instead of the red paint that remains.

The handle is really nice looking and has a great fawn's foot.

Turpentine would do the trick - peanut butter or the oil that rises to the top might work on wood?

Gets pitch off my kid's head - turpentine leaves too much of a rash (kidding).
