I have a big blackjack bowie and sheath, not my kind of survival knife, thinking about trading it off or selling it for a real rat knife does anybody know what it is worth?
never been used, alot of steel there,I got it about five years ago ,it was throwin in on a gun trade I made and I really have no use for it,I show it to a lot of people and it has some heft to it well made about 14 ' long total I think it has a 10" blade, I will pull it out of my safe and double check it tonight.
i'am just trying to get feel of what it is worth so i can at least do a fair
trade or sale.
Ok I found more info on the knife,It is called the shinning mountain bowie a recreation of the 1800 Bowie . made by blackjack knifes ,blade is 5-100 high carbon/hardness 58rc /OAL is 15 3/4

Value will depend on condition. I saw one recently selling on the internet in mint shape for $395.00.

The steel is 52100 and the handle should be American walnut.

I haven't seen one for years but I think what you are talking about is the Blackjack Warner Moran Rio Grande Bowie. Actually these were made in Japan from CS-51 high carbon steel. The most common are the wood handled model using Honduran Rosewood, which retailed for $200 at the end of their production in 1993. There was also a model with black Micarta handles retailing at $250 and a select grade stag model at $275. The later two were pretty rare especially the Micarta (a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive). I had a couple of them back in the mid 1990's and couldn't give them away, I ended up trading them at a local gunshop. Find a Blackjack collector and you can probably do well, but as far as value I have nothing to judge by as I have not seen one sell in many years.

I would contact Cutlers Cove and see if they can give you a price range. Love the blade shape. I still remember watching the "Iron Mistress" when I was 10 or 11, and how I wanted to find that river he dropped it into!
