Hey guys, I'm looking for a versatile knife to get with my Christmas money. I was sold after i saw Nutnfancy's review of the SOG aegis. But my delima is, Aegis mini, or Aegis full size. Any thoughts? I'm looking for a EDC that has tactical uses. Which one?

You want an EDC that can be used for tactical (self-defense?) or a self-defense/tactical knife that can be used for everyday tasks?

They strike me as a bit different, and knowing which one you are after might help everybody answer your question better.

Either one is going to work for self-defense. So will a nearby bottle or rock. I know that doesn't help much.

I'd concern myself more with which size you'd be more comfortable carrying and using all day than which one is a better "tactical" knife.

SD with a knife is a last resort that can almost always be avoided. The chances of using your knife for it are slim.

I understand that but if you're not always prepared, you're never prepared. haha i beleive I'll get the larger version because it is so light.

Manix2, brah.

Cool! I do like that it appears to have a full flat grind. Should make for a nice slicer and a good EDC.

I don't have either of those knives so I can't comment. If you are willing to consider other knives the Spyderco Manix 2 or Paramilitary are great options. So are the Zero Tolerance 350 or 550.
