The next blade I am looking for is a big one. I already have a BA-E for smaller chores. What is your favorite big Busse blade and why. I'm looking for practical reasons and not asthetics. But of course you can add that part too. Thanks

right now i find the new fsh to chop as well as the old straight battle mistress. it way out performs the old steel heart but it should as it's way bigger.

the new fusion mistress will be a chopping monster but will suck for personal carry unless you are a jock and don't drink or smoke.

i will get several of them for 4 wheeler, raft, auto carry. they will be awesome monsters!

for pack carry a fsh is as big as this old skunk will go.

peace
or is it piece...?
whatever....

Out of my blades the HOFSH is THE chopper right now, has enough mass to make each chop very efficient. When I compared the HOFSH to the SHE, the big boy did in one chop what the SHE did in 2-3.

Then again, I haven't tried the HH or my BME.... yet. :D

I'm afraid to use my 2 virgin HHs as I feel they will be a great collector's items. However, depending on your review of the HH I may change my mind. Please let us know if you decide to test it out. Thanks.

I really wanted to get the HH to see what it felt like in my hands. I like them just for what they are, more INFI, but I'm not sure that they will be any improvement or even equal the HOFSH. We shall see, may need to liberate one in the future.

Have any of you guys used your blades for prying? I know these ae not "pry bars but... If so what are more common "prying" chores your knives have seen? I have only chopped into logs and used my E handles to pry the log apart as opposed to batonning it.

It would help us to know what your intended use will be. Looking at my bigger knives, there are several candidates:

Like Skunk said, the FSH is very effective at chopping and comparatively compact.
The ZTBM is longer and leaner, but not as blade heavy. I don't own any other version of the Mistress to offer a comparison.
The Uncle MoFo has very similar handling characteristics to the ZTBM, but has the added pizzazz of the recurved blade. It is probably my favorite of the big ones.
The XXXL NICK is essentially a combat cleaver. It makes short work of a rack of ribs. I love it as a large camp knife for food prep.
The BARF is purely offensive. There is no other reason for its existence other than as a fighter.

You pays your money and you makes your choice. I think the MoFo/MoJo family is superb choice.

I use an HOFSH when hunting it to split and pry apart hardwood (oak, maple) for firewood. It's replaced my small forest axe for light duty chopping. Have not tried it on anything metal like car doors though.

I'm not looking for suggestions so that's why I did not post "my" intentions but just wanted to see what you guys use your big boys for.

My Rat Daddy is the best chopper I have.
ZTBM is second, and the battle Rat might be tied with it. Hard to say.

Soon, The FBM might take that crown. If there is a HOFBM, it will be the baddest of the bad. I hope I will be able to afford one.

With a proper sheath, I have no trouble carrying any big knife and I am by no means in good shape yet. A HOFBM will be the greatest chopper in all the land.

I'm trying to pry the innards out of my stabbin hood! :D Wrenching the blade back and fourth to open the holes a little bigger, I've actually tried to damage this blade via hammering and prying on that steel, no dice. I love my SHe!

So far, my favorite is my SHBM:D I carried it for a few years on my LBV while in the service and it was used for just about everything from opening MRE's to chopping and splitting firewood. Can't wait for the FBM to see how it compares:eek:
