I figured I'd put this up for the he** of it. One of these days I'm gonna go for a JS so I figure I'd better start practicing for real. I love our standard Crook-back model so much that I decided to extend that pattern to a large blade, more for the fun of it than anything else. The knife is full tang with a 9 1/2" blade of 5160 spring steel (14 3/4" total length, triple edge quenched, triple tempered and "chilled") with a hand-rubbed finish (only 400 grit) and false bevels. The handle is stabilized Box Elder with black liners, stainless steel handle bolts and lanyard hole. Just needs a lanyard.

That's one of the things I like about your knives J. They are no nonsense using knives with little flairs like the box elder and black spacers that really make them shine.

Nice work, I love it! ;)

Aaaagh! J.- all I can say is, I hope you enjoy my retirement, because I will never save any money for it as long as you're making stuff like that. :D :p :) Incredible knife!

That's just right for taking out an attacking mountain lion that they have in PA. But why are you waiting to get a JS ? do it now and the MS too !

I'm with Mete. Unless you still have time to kill before your alowed to take the test.

I wish, I've still got 2 years to wait until I can take my JS test for the ABS. I only joined the ABS last spring, heck, only started making knives about 4 years ago. I enjoy testing my knives on a regular basis but, thought I'd start making a blade every month or so to put through the JS test requirements, just to try to make sure I'm ready. I can't wait. I was going to use this one for a cutting contest and it's sister blade to test. This one might just end up on the table at the next show though.

I agree with mete!

J, that's about as big an ada-boy you will ever see from Mete. He only says what he really thinks. I can't get the picture to show up but its gotta be real good.

It's a beauty J. When I saw the posting title, I knew its intended use. Like all your knives it is a piece of functional art. :D :D
