I made this knife a few weeks ago but I just made the sheath today. I usually post my work in the maker's gallery but I thought I'd show this one here. I also had a question for people who are familiar with bowie sheaths like this that have no retention strap. How tight should the blade be in the sheath? Should it be able to hold the knife upside down too? Thanks for looking.

Blade is 10 3/16" long, 5160 steel, overall length is 15 1/2"

That's nice. I really like the blade on this knife. The handle looks a little narrow for my hands but that may be just the angle of the knife in the photo, but the wood is gorgeous.

Very nice bowie and that style sheath is my primary carry. I think you should be able to turn knife upside down and the knife will stay in . the sheath in my expierence will loosen in time but when it is slid thru your belt or in your waist band the tension will help hold it secure.

very nice combo. I love it. The sheath is the perfect color for that handle too.
