At my favourite discount warehouse I was able to score web returned and unused
Condor Golok machete ,Condor Kurkri and a Cold Steel Natchez bowie in their brand new 0-1 and kydex

Really looking forward to clearing trail on my acreage this spring with the golok, the thing is a chopping beast. Kurkri looks like a good one too.
Their leather sheaths are amazing for the price of these tools.
Golok has a little bend in the blade but runs back true to the center line, don't think it will matter much
Kurkri looks perfect and both came very sharp and well ground

Could not help myself and picked up the ultimate mountain man bowie, don't know if I will use the Natchez much but for 100$ for a massive chunk of 0-1........would have kicked myself later if I left it

Girl at the counter gave me 40 to 50% off the already super low prices
when the boss is in the back warehouse she will give me the nod and its time to hit the till!!!

2 or 3 more weeks until the ice is off my lake up north and can play with these a little.

Pics or it didn't happen! :D
I've wanted to try out that Golok. Specifically the pack version, but the full monty looks nice too.

Sounds like some good deals on some fun tools\toys. I have some Condors that are fun to use, but my parang hasn't been touched much. It feels like some strange machete\sword hybrid. I thinned the edge out a bit but it still needs work.

The Condor Golok is a great short machete and comfortable to use. I have two of them; one to use and potentially bang up when I need it and one as a backup for when I really bang up the blade on the first from hitting rocks and bricks. I use the Golok on the job and it does hit stuff that shouldn't be hit with a blade.

I actually have been using my Condor Pack Golok more lately for my non-business uses. Bought a Village Parang to try out, but haven't used it yet. Have the regular Parang too when I want something a bit longer than the Golok. I don't carry a machete much unless I know I will need it.

Are you a landscaper 22-rimfire? I was for a few years
Fill out your usage of the golok machete a little more if you don't mind
Must be root chopping or something to be bashing rocks/bricks.

Really want to get the bushcraft parang from condor.....if anyone has one chime in

Regards

I frequently clean up old houses and have a lot of unruly vegetation to deal with from vines to small trees. I am not a landscaper although it is something that I have been interested in and done on a regular basis for years. So, yes, if I don't have a big pruner with me, I will chop and hit the ground. There are sometimes rocks and bricks... tis life. Out in the woods, I seldom will hit the ground at this point in my life. I simply don't cut things that short and if I need to cut that low, I'll use a saw.

For me, the most important thing about a machete beyond cutting and your ability to yield it safely is how comfortable the handle is to you in your hand. Thin blade for flexible vegetation and a stiffer blade for primarily chopping limbs and small trees. I seldom use a machete for many hours, but I may use one intensely for a couple hours from time to time. The thing that attracted me to the Condor Golok was the handle and it works. I still suggest you wear gloves as it is easy to bang you hands up with materials that you "ignore" hitting you paws.
