After Lurking and reading... I checked out the RAT Site and looked at all the knives. Did comparisons, internal justifications, and many GOOGLE searches... I finally ordered and now own a RAT RC-3MIL. Now... At the same time.. I ordered an RC-5... (Waiting for it), and just this morning.. I ordered the RC-4.

I have drank the Kool-Aid. I have a need for all three like I have a need for more taxes. BUT... I do like tactical / outdoor gear.

I have a Primary Kit Knife ..SOG X-42 Recondo that I have had since 2001. Its has faired well thru OEF and OIF. I was looking for a replacement as I will be retiring the X-42 after this rotation.. but need some "Tools" for the remainder of this one.

I am going with one of each, 3, 4, and the 5. I will see what I like best and then probably give the ones I dont like or use to my Brother. I hope I like and use them all... and just keep them.

I have liked what I have read about the "Rats" and feel that I made a good choice. I am very interested to see how they hold up to my others that I have here. I hope to be just as impressed with these tools as I am my others.

Plus.. good to see people and a company so enthusiastic about the products and support.

I did similar to you, trying out all the sizes to see what works best.

I ended up keeping them all and now I have a few of each:D.

Yeah you will find that harder than you would think, but just think about your brother getting to use it and the knife seeing some carry time and it should make the greiving process easier ;).
 
Crazy. You haven't figured out yet you NEED an Izula.

Ummm Yeah. I forgot. I did order an Izula from Two Wolves... Thank you Lisa!! I dont have it yet. Its on the way. I cant believe I forgot that one. Weird.

I need to stop this insanity.

So yeah.. I guess I had the "Big Gulp"

I will see what I like and what I dont. I doubt I will NOT like any of them. You guys are probably right. I wont give any away.. I will just buy one or two for my Brother.
