Big D2 bowie

Just finished this one up today for the Branson hammer in this weekend. D2 blade, copper guard and buttcap with elk antler handle and bois d'arc (osage) spacer.

After I had the handle glued up and was finishing out the knife two small pieces of metal showed up in the bois d'arc spacer. I didn't see them when I cut the piece out and they aren't anything I put there. The wood is fom an old fencpost so it must be a nail or staple or something fom the fence post. Kind of an odd artifact.

I really like the way the copper looks but I wish it were a bit harder. It got a couple of dings in it along the way that I wish weren't there.
